Amanda Bossard graduated from high school in 1992. She then began an education in marine science at the Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Bossard started her journey in the commercial seafood industry in 1999. That year she was employed in Murat Aritan's 65 foot halibut boat, which was transformed into a fish tender. Bossard and Aritan have been married since 1993 and have come together in claiming their share of their industry. They support conservative, profitable management of sustainable seafood resources. Otolith was established at the time of Philadelphia by Bella Bossard, now the mother of two children who are aged three and one Bossard. Bossard in 2007, a mother of two children Bella age 3 and Andre 1 and returning to Philadelphia from her home in Canada, launched Otolith as a direct market wholesale seafood distributor.
